Vanity

Hmmm, I can think of a few of these in Cleveland, can you? And besides, you know how I feel about art co-ops, even ones with initial best intentions.

Much like vanity galleries, musicians face the same thing with music compilations. If a record label or organization ever asks for a fee to be included on a CD: run screaming the other way. For in fact, you are licensing a song to them so they should be paying you. While most comps can't afford to do this, the least they should do is give the band a box of CDs to sell at their shows or band website as compensation. It is just common courtesy.

Remember people, when the word "exposure" gets used in these situations it is a crock and useless.
