@ Asterisk Gallery works by "KRK RYDEN a DEVO inspired exhibition"
Friday, Aug. 29th 6-11pm Show runs through Sept. 10th
You may remember the Mark Mothersbaugh show that came through Asterisk last year, it was affiliated with KRK Ryden. Well now, he has his own show! KRK Ryden is known for his pop art inspired and comic book-like imagery, and while he and his brother -- Mark Ryden -- share a love of all things cartoon and surreal, KRK has a worldview that is strictly DEVO. For over thirty years KRK hasbeen creating illustrations and paintings for underground bands, publishers, and institutions. In addition, in the lower gallery is Jocko Dome-o, a charitable event in which professional andup-and-coming artists from around the country have been invited tocreatively alter their own Energy Dome—the classic headgear made famousby new wave band DEVO, and featured in their 1980 music video ‘Whip It.’
